Andrew Morse has been in solar since 2007. Starting his career in the industry as a PV System Design Engineer and advancing into several engineering leadership roles, he has over a decade of experience in the design, construction and operation of commercial and utility-scale solar plants. Andrew leads the development of software applications for tracker yield optimization, system monitoring and controls at FTC Solar. He is an Advisor at TerraWise, a startup building robotics for utility-scale solar, and he holds multiple patents for innovations in PV system design and single-axis tracker performance optimization. In 2025, Andrew started Straylight Ventures as a vehicle for both research and investment in the solar robotics space. Straylight's primary goal is to promote robotics in solar as a means to accelerate growth of utility-scale solar deployments through automated construction and address the labor shortage challenges often seen in the operations & maintenance phase of the solar project lifecycle.
